The frequency is 50 Hz in Tokyo. We use electrical plugs with two flat, identical-sized, non-polarized prongs. The deligates from North America, Central America, or South America may happen to need plug adapters because of the difference in the size of prongs. ([[http://www.jnto.go.jp/eng/arrange/essential/electricity.html|Electricity]] in [[http://www.jnto.go.jp/eng/|Japan: the Official Guide]] provided by Japan National Tourism Organization.) === Trains and Metros === We have a nation-wide train network operated by [[http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/|JR East]] which covers the most of Tokyo, two subway networks operated by [[http://www.tokyometro.jp/en/index.html|Tokyo Metro]] and [[http://www.kotsu.metro.tokyo.jp/eng/|Toei Subway]], which also cover the central Tokyo, and radiating railroads operated by companies, which connect central Tokyo and satellite cities. In almost all stations, station names are written in Kanji, Hangeul, and English. The announcements in train are provided in Japanese then English. The train network in Tokyo is slightly complex. First you had better familiar with [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamanote_Line|Yamanote-Line]], operated by JR East. We split Tokyo as "Inside-Area-of-Yamanote-line" and "Outside-Area-of-Yamanote-Line". If you stay on and/or inside Yamanote-Line, you will take or connect the following lines. * Yamanote-Line by JR East * Chuo-Line by JR East * Sobu-Line by JR East * [[http://www.tokyometro.jp/en/index.html|Tokyo Metro]] Subway Lines. * [[http://www.kotsu.metro.tokyo.jp/eng/|Toei Subway]] Lines.
