Travel Information

Weather of Tokyo in June

The maximum day temperature during June is 26°C and minimum temperature is 19°C. Early summer in Tokyo are usually very pleasant. But you are more than likely to need an umbrella. Please visit the weather page before travelling to Tokyo at the following web sites.

In Japan, the rainy season begins in early June and ends in mid July. The term of this MMR conference is chosen to be just before the rainy season, based on the weather data of recent ten years. (Data is available in Japanese only. We are sorry for inconvenience.)

Time Zone

Japan is 9 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GCMT). This country doesn't have daylight saving time in any region.

Credit Cards

All major credit cards are widely accepted in Tokyo, though Visa or Mastercard are preferable. If you bring travelers cheques, you are advised to exchange at any bank before usage. A Foreign exchange facility is available at all major banks in Tokyo. We note that most of the branches of the banks are open for 9am-3pm on weekdays only, Monday to Friday. ATM services are provided for 24 hours in Tokyo.

Currency

The Japan currency is known as the Japanese Yen (JPY). For updated currency rates see the following web sites.

Electricity

The voltage in Japan is 100 Volt. The frequency is 50 Hz in Tokyo. We use electrical plugs with two flat, identical-sized, non-polarized prongs. The deligates from North America, Central America, or South America may happen to need plug adapters because of the difference in the size of prongs. (Electricity in Japan: the Official Guide provided by Japan National Tourism Organization.)
