The Ninth International Conference on Mathematical Methods in Reliability

Announcement

It is our great pleasure to invite you to attend and contribute to the 9th International Conference on Mathematical Methods in Reliability (MMR2015) which will take place in Tokyo, Japan, on June 1-4, 2015, organised by Reliability Engineering Association of Japan (REAJ), and hosted by University of Electro-Communications, REAJ, the Institute of Statistical Mathematics, and University of Tsukuba.

The MMR conferences serve as a forum for discussing fundamental issues on mathematical methods in reliability theory and its applications. It is a forum that brings together reliability engineers in various fields, quality and safety experts, statisticians and data scientists, from within a central focus on reliability. As a major international forum on reliability, it attracts increasing number of researchers from many different countries, including USA, Canada, South Africa, Japan, Norway, Sweden, France, Iran, Italy, Poland, UK, Russia, South Korea, Lithuania, Austria, and other countries from all continents of the world.

The ninth conference will be held at Tokyo Campus of University of Tsukuba, which is located in the center of Tokyo. Tokyo enjoys a long history of prosperity as Japan’s capital since 1603, when Ieyasu Tokugawa established his shogunate and named the city Edo. Today, with a population of about 13 million, it has grown into the largest of the 47 prefectures of Japan and indeed one of the greatest metropolises in the world. Tokyo is the center of various activities in Japan including politics, economy, and culture.

The theme of MMR2015 is “Advances in Reliability Theory and Engineering in Big Data Era.” It aims at enhancing international exchanges, at promoting advances in reliability theory and reliability engineering, and at organizing an international forum on emerging issues in reliability engineering and their applications. We sincerely hope that you will join us and share a fruitful moment in this unique environment.

MMR2015 is hosted by

MMR2015 is also suppoted by

  • The International Society for Business and Industrial Statistics
  • IEEE Reliability Society, Japan Chapter

Venue

MMR2015 will be held at Bunkyo School Building in Tokyo Campus of University of Tsukuba on June 1-4, 2015.

Tokyo Campus of University of Tsukuba is located in Bukyo-ku of Tokyo. Bunkyo-ku was a residential area for Samurai in Edo-era. Rikugien and Koishikawa Korakuen are famous gardens in 17th Century. Bunkyo-ku has also many campuses of other universities, including University of Tokyo, Tokyo Medical and Dental University, Chuo University, and Takushoku University.

Tokyo Campus of University of Tsukuba is near Ikebukuro, one of the major hub stations in Tokyo. The nearest station is Myogadani Station of Marunouchi Line by Tokyo Metro. Since Marunouchi-Line connects Ikebukuro Station, Tokyo Station, and Ginza Station, and operates every 2-5 minites, we recommend you to take this subway to come to this campus.
